Research Pharmacy Tech, Per Diem

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Per Diem Research Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation, inventory management, and customer service within its health system pharmacy. This position works under the supervision of a pharmacist and contributes to the delivery of safe, accurate medication services.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, count, measure, and mix medications according to prescriptions.
• Handle inventory, receive supplies, verify stock, and maintain accurate records.
• Receive written prescriptions, fill or refill them, and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Answer telephone inquiries and assist customers with basic questions.
• Fill medication bottles, label them, and establish patient profiles.
• Transfer medication using aseptic techniques and prepare sterile syringes.
• Operate and monitor robotic dispensing machines.
• Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certification or licensing in pharmacy technology.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
