Research Intern - Reinforcement Learning, Self-Driving

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking passionate research interns to advance reinforcement learning techniques for autonomous driving. You will work alongside leading experts, leveraging massive datasets and cutting‑edge infrastructure to develop and test novel RL algorithms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on reinforcement learning topics such as large‑scale self‑play, VLA post‑training, and closed‑loop RL with neural simulation.
• Develop and evaluate RL models for autonomous driving applications.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate research outcomes into real‑world autonomous systems.
• Document findings and present results to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in autonomous driving or robotics research.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced, customer‑focused team.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
