Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate - Preclinical Research

About the role

Cabaletta Bio is recruiting an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate or Senior Research Associate for its preclinical research team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Senior Scientist, Cellular Immunology, the role performs cell-based assays and maintains cell lines to support the discovery and development of novel therapeutics, with possible involvement in molecular biology, immunology and cell therapy development.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, expand, bank and manage various cell lines, including primary cells
• Generate cell lines using lentivirus technology for suspension cell lines
• Perform cytotoxicity and other cell-based assays
• Run IND-enabling assays following SOPs and proper documentation
• Follow cGLP and Cabaletta Bio lab safety policies and SOPs
• Maintain accurate records and an electronic laboratory notebook
• Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new technologies
• Perform flow cytometry assays

Required profile

• MS in Biology or Bioengineering (or related field) with 0-3 years of experience, or bachelor's degree with 2-4+ years in biotechnology
• Highly organized, able to work independently with training, and able to learn new techniques
• Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills
• Preferred: experience in primary cell and iPSC-derived cell culture, and industry or startup experience with good documentation practices

Required skills

• Aseptic techniques and human tissue handling
• Mammalian cell husbandry, including cell culture maintenance, media preparation and cell banking
• Flow cytometry (preferred)
