Research Associate I – Hossain Laboratory

About the role

The Hossain Laboratory at UAMS seeks a Research Associate I to advance novel immunotherapies against solid cancers. Working under the Principal Investigator, you will design and perform experiments, monitor progress, and analyze data.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct molecular studies including RNA/protein isolation, gene and protein expression analysis, and flow cytometry.
• Maintain cell and tissue cultures, perform lentiviral transductions, and evaluate in‑vitro efficacy of immunotherapies.
• Perform surgical procedures to establish in‑vivo tumor models and assess therapeutic effects.
• Prepare research progress reports, manuscripts, patent applications, and contribute to grant proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with at least four years of research experience.
• Understanding of biology, pharmacology, and physiology principles.
• Proficiency in handling laboratory animals and performing surgical and non‑surgical procedures.

Required skills

• RNA and protein isolation techniques.
• Western blot, PCR, and flow cytometry.
• Cell culture, lentiviral and adenoviral transduction.
• Microscopy, tissue processing for histopathology, and surgical animal techniques.
• Data management, biostatistics, and scientific presentation preparation.
