About the role
The University of Miami seeks a Research Associate to support prevention sciences research under the direction of Dr. Mariano Kanamori. The role involves direct interaction with participants across pharmacy, clinical, and community settings in Miami‑Dade and Broward counties.
Key responsibilities
- Implement study protocols in diverse venues, including community events and pharmacies.
- Recruit, screen, obtain consent, and enroll eligible participants.
- Administer study procedures, monitor for adverse events, and report findings.
- Maintain accurate case report forms, medical records, and study logs.
- Coordinate study visits, follow‑ups, and ensure compliance with IRB, HSR, and GCP standards.
- Assist with data collection, entry, quality control, and basic analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and community‑based sexual health organizations.
- Deliver HIV prevention navigation services, including PrEP counseling.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field (preferred).
- At least one year of research experience (preferred).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols and IRB processes.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
