Research Associate 3 – Prostate Cancer Research

About the role

The University of Miami’s UHealth system seeks a full‑time Research Associate 3 to lead experimental therapy development for prostate cancer within the Radiation Oncology Department at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze molecular, cellular, and animal biology experiments related to prostate cancer projects.
• Coordinate acquisition and processing of patient samples in collaboration with clinical colleagues.
• Develop, adapt, and implement new laboratory procedures.
• Manage ordering, purchasing, and inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Maintain biosafety, animal care, and laboratory safety records and SOPs.
• Document experimental results, prepare data for manuscripts and scientific presentations.
• Stay current with literature and troubleshoot technical challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in cancer biology, biochemistry, cell biology or a related scientific field.
• Minimum five years of experience with standard biochemistry, molecular and cell biology techniques.
• At least two years of experience in prostate cancer research (highly preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaborative teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and occasional extended hours.
