About the role
The University of Miami’s Department of Psychology seeks a full‑time Research Associate 2 to support a culturally and linguistically adapted psycho‑behavioral sleep intervention for Hispanic couples coping with cancer. The role involves both laboratory work and direct delivery of the intervention to participants.
Key responsibilities
- Perform specialized and complex psycho‑behavioral experiments and interventions with Hispanic adults with cancer and their spousal caregivers.
- Adapt and deliver culturally and linguistically tailored sleep‑intervention materials.
- Collect, prepare, analyze, and evaluate study data, including specimens and tissue cultures.
- Operate sensitive laboratory equipment, weigh and anesthetize laboratory animals, and conduct photography and dark‑room processing.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication of significant research findings.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum two years of relevant research experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Strong data collection, organization, and analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet deadlines, including evenings and weekends as needed.
