About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Neurology department seeks a full‑time Research Associate 2 to support advanced neuroscience research in Boca Raton, FL. Working under senior staff, you will contribute to experimental design, data collection, and the dissemination of findings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized and complex laboratory experiments, including specimen preparation, tissue culture, and animal anesthesia.
• Operate sensitive laboratory equipment and conduct photography and dark‑room processing for research documentation.
• Conduct neuropsychological testing and rating scales for clinical studies.
• Assist with participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate source documentation, participant charts, and ensure compliance with IRB protocols.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and extramural grant writing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Minimum of 2 years of research experience in a laboratory or clinical setting.
• Strong learning agility and ability to follow detailed protocols.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to participant safety.
