Research Associate 2 – Immunology & Cell Therapy

About the role

The University of Miami’s SCCC department seeks a full‑time Research Associate 2 to support cutting‑edge immunology and cell‑therapy research on the UHealth Medical Campus. The role involves hands‑on laboratory work, data collection, and contribution to scientific publications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and preserve peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from donor and patient samples.
• Schedule, conduct, and document immunology and leukocyte biology experiments.
• Perform standard immunological and molecular biology assays (ELISA, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, PCR/RT‑PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, viral titer quantification, signal transduction assays, protein purification).
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and assist in data interpretation.
• Collect and process specimens from healthy donors and clinical patients.
• Conduct literature searches and update laboratory bibliographies.
• Assist in preparing manuscripts, grant proposals, and progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Biology or a related field (preferred).
• At least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Prior experience in an academic research setting, especially with blood sample processing and flow cytometry.
• Strong analytical and data‑organization skills.
