Research Associate 2 – Full‑time Research Position

About the role

The University of Miami's UHealth Medical Campus is seeking a full‑time Research Associate 2 to support its research programs. The incumbent will conduct specialized experiments, handle specimens and tissue cultures, and contribute to scientific publications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized and complex laboratory experiments.
• Collect, prepare, dissect, and evaluate specimens and tissue cultures.
• Weigh and anesthetize laboratory animals for experiments.
• Operate sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.
• Perform calculations and data analysis to complete research test results.
• Conduct photography and dark‑room processing.
• Write extramural proposals when appropriate.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and publication of research results.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience.
• Strong ability to collect, organize, and analyze data.
• Proven problem‑solving skills and sound judgment in decision‑making.
