Research Associate 1 – Psychology (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks a full‑time Research Associate 1 to support laboratory experiments and project coordination for a culturally adapted sleep‑intervention study targeting Hispanic couples coping with cancer.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret research protocols and procedures and ensure compliance with good research practice.
• Collect, prepare, analyze, dissect, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
• Perform calculations, data collection, and statistical analysis of laboratory results.
• Coordinate project activities, including recruitment, retention, and data management across three study phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Demonstrated learning agility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
• Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Statistical analysis of research data.
