Research Associate 1 – Myeloma

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC is seeking a full‑time Research Associate 1 to support translational and clinical research within the Sylvester Myeloma Institute. The role focuses on laboratory work and data integration to improve outcomes for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments and routine assays on assigned myeloma research projects.
• Collect, prepare, dissect, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Perform calculations, record data, and conduct statistical analysis of results.
• Assist with integration and analysis of clinical, demographic, therapeutic, genomic, and MRD data.
• Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and publication of significant findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow good research practice.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.
• Commitment to confidentiality and university core values.
