Research Assistant – Part‑time Immunology Lab

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Department seeks a part‑time Research Assistant to support an immunology research program in Miami, FL. The role involves performing molecular, cellular and biochemical experiments while maintaining laboratory operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot a variety of scientific apparatus.
• Prepare and maintain cell cultures, reagents and culture media.
• Conduct molecular, cellular and biochemical experiments under supervision.
• Collect, analyze and record experimental data in study notebooks and logs.
• Order laboratory supplies and manage inventory.
• Prepare correspondence, answer phones and maintain bibliographies.
• Review and edit materials for publication and assist with publication schedules.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory or research experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
