Research Assistant – Laboratory Research Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Research Assistant to support laboratory experiments focused on microRNAs in neurogenesis using drug‑abuse and HIV mouse models. The position is based in Miami and involves hands‑on work with cell lines and in‑vivo mouse studies.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and follow research protocols and procedures.
• Maintain and culture human cell lines and transgenic mouse colonies.
• Perform Western blotting, real‑time qPCR, and other routine assays.
• Collect, prepare, dissect, and evaluate tissue specimens.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Analyze data, perform statistical calculations, and contribute to manuscript preparation.
• Ensure compliance with good research practice and university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field.
• No prior professional experience required; laboratory experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.
