Research Assistant 2 – Oncology Lab

About the role

The Department of Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a Research Assistant 2 to support daily laboratory operations and experimental work in cancer and immunotherapy research.

Key responsibilities

• Order reagents, maintain inventories, and perform autoclaving.
• Ensure compliance with lab safety standards and conduct routine inspections.
• Execute molecular techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, and RT‑PCR.
• Perform tissue‑culture procedures and manage mouse models, including tumor implantation, injections, and tissue collection.
• Collaborate with lab members and report to Dr. Khleif and Dr. Gupta.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of cancer biology and related research techniques.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (0‑2 years experience) or an M.S. in Cell Biology/Immunology/Cancer Biology, or a B.S. with 1‑2 years relevant experience.
• Willingness to receive training in mouse handling if not already experienced.
