Renewable Energy Attorney

About the role

Lightstar Renewables is looking for an attorney to join its legal team and support the full lifecycle of solar and battery energy storage projects across the United States. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and administer a wide range of commercial agreements, including confidentiality, consulting, vendor, software and professional services contracts.
• Support the Origination team with lease negotiations, purchase options, easements, access and crossing agreements, and other real‑estate documents.
• Assist in project acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, tax‑equity transactions and other strategic deals, managing due‑diligence processes and transaction closings.
• Review and negotiate EPC, equipment supply, O&M and related construction contracts; handle contract administration, claims, dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
• Provide corporate governance support, including entity formation, board resolutions, consents and compliance monitoring.

Required profile

• J.D. or equivalent law degree and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Early‑career attorney with a strong interest in renewable energy, project development, real‑estate and corporate transactions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior leaders, external counsel and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Strong legal drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Familiarity with commercial contracts, real‑estate documents and financing structures.
• Understanding of renewable energy regulations and permitting processes.
