Remote Pharmacist (6-8 week contract)

About the role

This is a short‑term, remote contract position for a licensed pharmacist to help clear a prescription processing backlog. The engagement lasts 6‑8 weeks with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Verify new and refill prescriptions for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and drug interactions.
• Ensure prescriptions meet federal, state, and client‑specific requirements before approval.
• Monitor order entry, clarification, and patient onboarding workflows to support timely processing.
• Provide remote patient counseling via phone or video on medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Conduct required counseling for REMS programs and document all patient interactions per regulations.
• Contact prescribers to clarify orders, discuss therapeutic alternatives, and address clinical concerns.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians, offering coaching and feedback to maintain quality.
• Maintain compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with fulfillment, call‑center, quality, and operations teams to improve processes.

Required profile

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Active pharmacist license in the home state, in good standing.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
• Minimum two years of experience in retail, specialty, or related pharmacy settings.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
