Remote Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation (OR)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for Workers Compensation covering Oregon, working remotely. The role analyzes workers compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, adjudicates claims within service expectations and industry best practice, and negotiates settlements within designated authority.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans, investigating and gathering information to determine exposure
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions requests professionally and on time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
• 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred; Oregon certification preferred
• Ability to think clearly, judge well, troubleshoot, analyze and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
