Remote Accounting & Property Management Specialist

About the role

Better is looking for a detail-oriented Property Management Accounting Specialist to handle financial transactions, account reconciliations, ledger maintenance, payment administration and financial reporting, while supporting daily property management operations. The role is remote, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, and requires professional Spanish.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions accurately and on time, and maintain and update general ledgers and property-related financial records.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and prepare financial reports, summaries and supporting documentation.
• Process, monitor and track payments and other financial transactions, and keep accounting records organized and accessible.
• Support lease agreements, property management agreements, disclosures and DocuSign documents, and help with lease renewals and new property onboarding.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate between tenants, property owners and vendors, and manage leasing-related calls and follow-ups.
• Document company procedures and workflows in Notion, and suggest improvements through technology and automation.
• Provide general administrative support such as report preparation, document organization and meeting coordination.

Required profile

• 3+ years of property management experience, including hands-on accounting responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of financial transactions, reconciliations, ledgers, payment processing and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and take initiative without extensive supervision.
• Professional Spanish, written and spoken.
• Organized, process-oriented and able to learn new systems quickly.

Required skills

• Property management accounting software; Rent Manager experience is highly preferred, others considered.
• Accounting principles and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Notion for documenting workflows.
