Reliability Engineer – Electrical

About the role

The Harley‑Davidson Product Development Center in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer to lead development and verification of motorcycle electrical components and systems. You will work closely with electrical systems engineers, suppliers, and the test organization to ensure robust, safe, and reliable designs from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and document DFMEA activities for electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Create detailed DVP&R verification plans, including test and simulation activities.
• Manage Functional Safety (ISO 26262) risk assessments, safety plans, and compliance.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis of test data to identify trends and validate design robustness.
• Lead design reviews with internal and external engineers focusing on requirements, development, and verification.
• Compile warranty data and support product‑quality initiatives.
• Track reliability metrics, report findings, and continuously improve processes and tools.

Required profile

• Experience in electrical reliability engineering within automotive or motorcycle environments.
• Strong understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, and ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
• Proven ability to analyze data statistically and drive design improvements.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
