Regulatory Engineer – Nuclear Microreactor Licensing

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing the world’s first mass‑produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The Regulatory Engineer will lead the licensing effort with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ensuring the safe and timely commercialization of the Kaleidos microreactor.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end licensing execution, from safety analysis to physical protection plans.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal technical teams and external regulators (NRC).
• Oversee design reviews, regulatory documentation, and quality assurance activities.
• Organize technical inputs into data products and reports, raising and resolving regulatory concerns.
• Proactively review regulatory approaches to align with Radiant’s innovative licensing path.
• Ensure completeness, timeliness, and quality of all licensing submissions.
• Write software scripts to automate data analysis and generate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting regulatory licensing or compliance activities for complex engineering systems.
• Ability to integrate test results and analysis into a full license application.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with regulators and cross‑functional teams.
