Registered Nurse – Surgical Urology (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialty care in the Surgical Urology unit. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, ensure safety and quality, and support a culturally competent environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, and provide age‑ and culture‑sensitive information.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team while complying with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff and uphold university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Applicable specialty certifications as required by the department.
