Registered Nurse – Specialty (UMH)

About the role

The University of Miami Health system is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in a specific clinical area. The RN will provide direct patient care, collaborate with physicians, and support patients and families throughout the care continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care using available resources.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing procedures, and health‑safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in patient assessment and documentation.
• Ability to administer medications and perform clinical procedures safely.
• Strong interpersonal communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.
