Registered Nurse - Preop/PACU (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for preoperative and PACU coverage on a PRN basis, working day shifts in Orlando, Florida. The position covers assessment, care planning, medication administration and patient education in a fast-paced perioperative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise care plans.

Pay range: $31.85 - $52.76. Positions may be subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting.
