Registered Nurse - Plastic Surgery Clinic, OR & PACU

About the role

Belcara Health, which partners with aesthetic and cosmetic medicine practices, is recruiting on behalf of a luxury plastic surgery practice in Maryland. It seeks an experienced, motivated Registered Nurse (RN) for a combined clinic, operating room and PACU position in Baltimore, Maryland. The nurse works across outpatient patient care and perioperative duties, from pre-operative preparation and education through surgery, recovery and post-operative care.

Key responsibilities

• Clinic: room patients, obtain and document histories, medications, allergies, vitals and review of systems, prepare patients for exams, assist surgeons with in-office procedures, give pre- and post-operative education, perform post-op assessments, dressing changes and wound care, manage patient flow and clinical supplies.
• Operating room: prepare the OR, assist with pre-op preparation and surgical safety, circulate during procedures, maintain sterile technique, complete intraoperative documentation, assist the surgical and anesthesia teams, take part in counts and specimen handling, and support room turnover.
• PACU: receive patients from the OR, monitor vitals, airway, oxygenation, consciousness, pain and nausea, administer medications per orders, manage pain and nausea, monitor surgical sites and drains, document accurately, check discharge criteria, review post-op instructions with patients and caregivers, and ensure PACU readiness.

Required profile

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Maryland.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred or ability to obtain it.
• Previous OR, perioperative, PACU or surgical nursing experience strongly preferred; plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, ambulatory surgery center or outpatient surgical experience is a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills, excellent communication and patient-service skills.
• Comfortable working across the clinic, OR and PACU, organized, dependable and flexible.
