About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its clinical team in Plantation, Florida. The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate with physicians, and support a compassionate healing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while respecting age and cultural considerations.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and follow regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and maintain professional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Learning agility, teamwork, strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and healthcare technology applications.
