Registered Nurse - Pediatric ICU Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Pediatric ICU, working the night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The position requires an RN license in Florida and certification in PALS, BLS and ACLS.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care.
• Perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and use a high level of abstract reasoning to revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Registered Nurse Florida license (required).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (required).
• Experience in a specialty area preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and of assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance.
• EKG knowledge, depending on patient population.
