Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Room

About the role

Join a leading academic medical center in Boston as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department. You will provide urgent, high‑quality care to children and adolescents in a fast‑paced, Level 1 trauma environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of defense for pediatric patients requiring urgent medical attention.
• Assess, prioritize, and deliver care for trauma, injury, and severe medical conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and operate pediatric medical equipment.
• Participate in code‑blue and other emergency responses.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.

Required profile

• ADN or higher nursing degree.
• Active, unencumbered RN license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• 1+ year experience in pediatric and/or emergency settings preferred.
• Strong communication skills with children, families, and healthcare professionals.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – preferred.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred.
• Proficiency with pediatric medical equipment and emergency procedures.
