About the role
The University of Miami is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join its Pain Center. This position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment, supporting individuals dealing with pain management needs.
Key responsibilities
- Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions, vital signs, and symptoms.
- Modify care plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
- Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
- Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment responsibly.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Valid State of Florida RN license.
- No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
