About the role
The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to work night shifts in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position provides patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment, following evidence‑based standards of quality, safety, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
- Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate relevant medical equipment.
- Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Adapt to changing work demands, prioritize assignments, and seek assistance when needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Florida Registered Nurse license.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- No prior experience required.
