Registered Nurse – Outpatient Cardiology Clinic (Full‑time)

About the role

The Outpatient Cardiology Clinic at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent environment. The RN will work closely with physicians and allied health staff to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based cardiac care for outpatients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and clinical guidelines.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic test results and communicate findings to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Perform patient tests, safely administer medications, and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while complying with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Assist with discharge planning, transition of care, and utilization of available resources.
• Plan and prioritize assignments, operate medical equipment safely, and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent, patient‑family centered care.
