About the role
The University of Miami seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide oncology patient care on a full‑time basis. The RN will deliver culturally competent, evidence‑based care while supporting a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document observations, and consider age and cultural factors.
- Administer medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulations.
- Reassess interventions, evaluate diagnoses, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Communicate care plans clearly to patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in policy, procedure, and protocol development and serve on committees.
- Initiate discharge planning at admission and involve patients and support networks.
- Provide preceptorship to students and new staff; act as Charge or Resource Nurse when required.
- Lead unit‑level projects that improve patient care, safety, or experience.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates have 2 years to complete BSN).
- Valid Florida RN license.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
