Registered Nurse NICU PRN Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring a Registered Nurse for its NICU to work PRN nights and weekends. The nurse provides night-time care to newborns and their families, assessing patients, implementing care plans and supporting families with education.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) Florida license (required).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• EKG knowledge, depending on patient population.
