Registered Nurse – Neurosurgery Stepdown (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Neurosurgery Stepdown unit at UHealth Tower. The RN will provide patient‑family centered care, ensure safety and quality, and support a culturally competent environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results, consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring HIPAA compliance and effective transition of care.
• Assist with discharge planning, prioritize assignments, and adapt to changing work demands.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Florida.
• 2‑year experience for ASN‑educated RNs (if applicable).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent, evidence‑based care.
