Registered Nurse – Neurosurgery Stepdown (Full Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Neurosurgery Stepdown unit at UHealth Tower. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, ensuring safety, quality, and cultural competence.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on physician orders and patient response.
• Review and report diagnostic test results, prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team while complying with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, provide feedback, and assist with discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Current RN license in Florida.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, culturally competent care.
