Registered Nurse – Neurosurgery (RN)

About the role

The Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Neurosurgery team in Jacksonville, FL. This position focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing care across the continuum of neurosurgical services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct patient care, education, and transitions of care for neurosurgery patients.
• Implement the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, planning, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and informal leader, contributing to quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on skill level, patient acuity, and resource availability.
• Participate in committees, projects, and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• At least one year of RN experience in a relevant care setting (LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is also considered).
• Functional Neurosurgery experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call assignments.
