Registered Nurse – Neurology Telemetry (Per Diem)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the Neurology Telemetry unit at UHealth Tower. You will provide patient‑family centered care, ensuring safety, quality, and cultural competence in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team while complying with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, supporting their integration into the unit.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Valid Florida RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum two years of hospital nursing experience.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
