Registered Nurse – Neurology Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Neurology Telemetry unit. The RN will assess patients, coordinate care plans, and ensure safe delivery of treatments while supporting patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses, physician orders, and clinical assessments.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic test results to inform patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while respecting HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to facilitate patient transitions.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering guidance and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and technical proficiency with office and clinical software.
