Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical – Night Shift

About the role

Join Palestine Regional Medical Center, a 150‑bed acute care hospital in Palestine, TX, as a Night Shift Registered Nurse in Medical/Surgical units. You will provide safe, compassionate care to diverse patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policy.
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient education accurately and promptly.
• Provide direct care including activities of daily living, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility support.
• Monitor patient conditions, report significant changes, and participate in discharge planning.
• Deliver emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Ensure patient safety through infection control, fall prevention, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license (or compact state equivalent).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications.
• Minimum of 6 months of medical‑surgical nursing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand or walk for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of medication administration and pharmacology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) competency.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) competency.
