Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients in an acute‑care hospital setting. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes while adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments to determine nursing care needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with policies and physician orders.
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient education accurately and timely.
• Provide direct care including activities of daily living, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility support.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate significant changes to the care team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for care coordination, discharge planning, and referrals.
• Offer emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Ensure patient safety through infection control and fall‑prevention protocols.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed staff.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN license or compact state equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications.
• Minimum of 6 months of medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Professional integrity, accountability, and commitment to continuing education.

Required skills

• Medication administration and knowledge of pharmacology.
