Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry - Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at UHealth Tower. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report changes in condition, vital signs, and diagnostic test results promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members in compliance with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and transition of care using best practices.
• Serve as a preceptor, providing feedback and support to new staff.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Florida.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, culturally diverse environment.
