Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Charge Nurse

About the role

AdventHealth in Wauchula, Florida is hiring a full-time night shift Registered Nurse to serve as Medical Surgical Charge Nurse. The role directs and coordinates nursing personnel on designated shifts, oversees staff and patient care, and ensures quality of care and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the quality of patient care and outcomes based on treatments administered.
• Direct and coordinate nursing personnel activities on assigned shifts, overseeing staff and patient care.
• Ensure real-time documentation, including reviewing task lists and promptly initiating and signing off on physician's orders.
• Advise nurses on whether to call physicians and help staff use electronic quality management tools to evaluate treatment plans.
• Use chart audit reports to monitor adherence to documentation guidelines and help staff meet documentation goals.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required).
• At least 1 year of acute care experience, or 2+ years of acute care experience.
• Previous charge RN or leadership experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification.
