Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Labor and Delivery unit in Winter Park, Florida. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts plus every other weekend, with night shifts running 7 am to 7 pm. Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases of up to 20% through a voluntary Clinical Ladder Program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• 1+ years of experience in a labor and delivery acute care setting (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (both required).

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• EKG competency.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
