About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse specialized in Interventional Radiology to provide patient‑centered care on an as‑needed basis. This role supports a high‑acuity environment, ensuring safe, evidence‑based nursing practices while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments, document interactions, and consider age and cultural factors.
• Demonstrate advanced competency in interventional radiology nursing.
• Administer medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records per regulatory standards.
• Reassess and document effectiveness of interventions, updating care plans accordingly.
• Communicate care plans clearly to patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in policy, procedure, and protocol development and review.
• Represent nursing on committees and task forces.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission, involving patients and support networks.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and assist in contingency planning.
• Provide preceptorship, serve as Charge or Resource Nurse, and lead unit‑level improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Applicable specialty certifications as required by the department.
