Registered Nurse – Hematology/Oncology (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Hematology/Oncology specialty team at UHealth Tower. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure high‑quality, culturally competent services for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results, and consult with physicians and other professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing culturally appropriate information and psychological support.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and comply with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
