Registered Nurse – GI Specialty (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System at Doral is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Gastroenterology (GI) specialty team. You will provide patient‑centered, culturally competent care in a state‑of‑the‑art ambulatory setting that includes endoscopy suites, cancer treatment bays, and multidisciplinary exam rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs.
• Report changes in patient condition and modify treatment plans per physician orders.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, including endoscopic procedures.
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate medication records.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Provide psychological support and education to patients and families, respecting age and cultural considerations.
• Assist with discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.

Required profile

• Current RN license in Florida.
• Experience in gastroenterology, endoscopy, or related acute care settings preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient safety.
