Registered Nurse – Gastroenterology Specialty (Full-time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 – Specialty to provide patient‑family centered care in the gastroenterology department, delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans according to patient responses, conditions, and physician orders.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic tests, consulting with physicians to develop and adjust care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support, administer medications safely, and maintain accurate medication records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members in compliance with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and technical proficiency with office software.
