Registered Nurse for Youth Residential Program in Ottumwa, IA

About the role

PsyPhyCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver on‑site medical and wellness services for a federally supported residential youth program serving young adults ages 16‑24 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging urgent and emergent medical situations and providing first aid, clinical assessments, and basic treatment.
• Monitoring students with chronic health conditions, administering medications, and assisting with examinations.
• Coordinating referrals, follow‑up care, and maintaining accurate medical documentation, lab results, immunizations, and regulatory compliance.
• Delivering individual and group health education sessions and maintaining medical and prescription supply inventories.
• Providing staff training on health and wellness topics and collaborating with community healthcare partners.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Iowa.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience in clinical, school‑based, residential, or community health settings.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents or young adults is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
