Registered Nurse – Float

About the role

The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides competent, evidence‑based patient care across multiple units, stepping in where staffing needs arise. This position works under the supervision of nursing leadership while overseeing licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to assigned patients.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants.
• Adapt quickly to different clinical settings within the facility.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with nursing standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program (associate, bachelor’s, or higher).
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for VA employment, including meeting VA Handbook qualifications.
• For foreign‑educated nurses, valid licensure and recognized degree equivalency evaluation.
