Registered Nurse - CVICU Stepdown (Full Time, Nights)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Ventricular ICU (CVICU) stepdown unit, working nights. The RN provides patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care while following established standards, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care and assess patients to build a standard of care and evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing plan
• Ensure accurate documentation, adequate supplies and knowledge of equipment operation
• Act as educator for peers, patients and families
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Florida
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of cardiac stepdown or progressive care experience preferred
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs
• Completion of annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and new employee orientation

The role is physically demanding, with long periods of standing, sitting and walking, and requires working independently in a stressful environment.
